The length of the goose call in combination with the gut system allows for moderate backpressure for the call to break. This means that the goose caller is able to learn and master the call much earier than with most goose calls. The "barrel groove" provides a guide for beginning callers as a starting point for the placement of the "on" hand (the hand that holds the call). This goose call can hit all of the comeback calls and high hail calls while still being able to call really low and guttoral for moans and laydown sounds. The unique shaved reed design and hand tuning of every call allows for maximum pitch and volume without compromising the overall range of the call.
